How to get Jeff Goldblum’s style

The term “daddy bod” just doesn’t exist in Jeff Goldblum’s vernacular. That’s because the 63-year-old puts most young men to shame when it comes to menswear.

With no shortage of films to his name since 1974, Goldblum has carved his own piece of the Hollywood pie while aging with grace and his own sense of style.

Of course, what really put him in the spotlight was a movie called Independence day who saw Goldblum and a young Will Smith repel an alien invasion. Twenty years later, that film has a sequel, and Goldblum reprized his role as the titular hero. What does this mean to you?

Goldblum will once again be in force with its most striking looks: Biker Dad, Distinguished Hipster and Suited Up Silver Fox.

Is there something this man can’t do? Well, if the styling mistakes of the past are anything to do with it, the answer seems like a big resounding ‘no’. Today we show you how to get Jeff Goldblum’s style.

Break it

If we had to use one word to describe Goldblum’s style, it would be “versatile”. The actor who once hunted dinosaurs with sleek hair and an unbuttoned shirt looks a lot sleeker in reality than he looks on the big screen. Father and husband achieve this with a combination of intricately decorated suits, whether it’s a white tuxedo or a deconstructed preppy blazer.

On the streets and in town, however, Goldblum likes to turn things around so the press keeps guessing. He is also known to be only a handful of men over sixty who can wear Converse sneakers like a boss. Golblum’s other looks include classic dark suits cut in slim for an ultra modern look (that’s what makes her look so young).

When it comes to a mix of formal and casual, Goldblum vouches for a clean suit pants or rolled up chinos and matches it with a button-down shirt, preppy tie, and tie clip. And let’s not forget Goldblum’s iconic piece – the classic Fedora hat.

Talk about an old dog with new tips.

Daddy biker

If only all the dads would dress like this badass. Goldblum is a die-hard fan of cool leather jackets and has an endless arsenal of beautifully textured clothing. Black is usually his favorite color, which he complements with contrasting shirts in white, pastel or chambray.

He is also a fan of more designer leather, with pieces that feature zips, buckles, studs and asymmetric pockets. In the end, it is an explosion of monochrome and color underlined by the now emblematic gray hair of Goldblum that he rocks with absolute class.

If there was one term to describe this unusual look, it would be “Rock Leisure”. Gray sneakers, sweatpants, leather jacket and slicked back? Proceed with caution. Unless you’re Jeff Goldblum.

Distinguished hipster

The unstructured blazer is a must-have for the man who does not seem to age. Paired with her favorite Fedora or straw boat hat, Goldblum creates an incredibly deceptive look that straddles the fine line between weekend warrior and evening wear killer.

During the day, it’s a simple case of intuitive color block with cool printed tees under an unstructured blazer. It goes perfectly with fitted jeans or chinos. Colored rimmed glasses are a bonus in this case, which can complement the look perfectly.

In the evening, Goldblum loses the hat and opts for dress shirts and pinstripe ties for the red carpet. The executives are turning black again and you have a man who now deserves an award. Genius or street smart, that’s just damn cool.

Adapted silver fox

Goldblum’s svelte figure and 1.94m frame give her some of the finest suits and tuxedos on the red carpet. When he goes for the slim fit in his suits, he knows how to dress for a tall man and absolutely towers over people – in a good way.

Goldblum typically goes for darker colors in charcoal, gray, black, pinstripe, or a deep Marsala (think brown with more pop). It’s a classic look that goes well with her dark complexion and also highlights the benefits of being a silver fox. Her dress shoes are often polished black, again in keeping with nighttime conventions.

During the day, if you find Goldblum in a suit, it’s a full eighty turn on how he performs it. An off-white / almost gray ensemble paired with a bright bow tie, pastel shirt, and tinted sunglasses propels the man to the heights of the fashion stratosphere. If you didn’t know him as an actor, you’d probably take him on the streets for someone who just came out of Pitti Uomo.

Who says old people can’t be cool?
